The Central Florida Anthropological Society represents Orange, Lake, Osceola and Seminole Counties.

CFAS was established in 1963 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and preservation of Florida’s prehistoric, historic and contemporary cultural heritage. CFAS is a chapter of the Florida Anthropological Society. Our membership is open to people of all ages and backgrounds including students, professionals, volunteers and the community-at-large.

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month from September through June at Leu Gardens, 1920 North Forest Avenue, Orlando, beginning at 7pm.

We welcome members of the Greater Orlando community who have a general interest in anthropology and/or local history and culture.

CFAS served as host for the 63rd annual meeting of the Florida Anthropological Society in 2011.
